Another Adventure

Recently I got to spend some time at one of my favorite places. When the Sawgrass Golf Courses first opened, my father worked there as a starter. He loved meeting his favorite pros and sports personalities. I think he loved watching the progress of the up-and-coming professional golfers even more. Whenever I would go out to the courses, he would take me to the practice areas to watch the golfers. He knew everybody and would point out the people that he thought would be famous one day.

He was right in a lot of cases.

He worked at the Stadium Course, the one that is famous for #ThePlayers Championship, but he and my mother preferred playing the Valley Course most days. The photo above is of the Valley Course from the backyard of one of the many beautiful homes of TPC Sawgrass.

There is a healthy variety of homes styles to choose from, with water views, preserve lots or golf course views. Some, like this home enjoys both water and golf course view. I know of another home, built originally by the De Beers family of diamond fame on a preserve lot with views of the Stadium course. Home sizes range from smaller, attached patio homes in neighborhoods like Turtleback Crossing to the elegant, spacious homes of Sawgrass Island.

Would you like to live here? I would be happy to help you explore options.

Thursday Adventures

Being a full-time Realtor® means working untraditional hours. Most of my customers are available to meet with me on evenings and weekends. During the day I work on marketing or photos or reports, or meet with vendors, inspectors, folks like that. Also, there are continuing education classes to take, office meetings, closings. My days and weeks are never the same.
Still, in order to assure that I have some downtime, I try to reserve Thursdays for adventures.
Last week I drove down to the Tanger Outlet Mall in Daytona. It’s about an hour and fifteen minutes from Jacksonville’s Southside, down I-95. It’s not the closest Outlet Mall from Jacksonville. You’ll go past the St. Augustine Outlet Malls.  But, I was looking to go somewhere different, and I had a whole tank of gas in the car which makes me feel like I can go anywhere.
The mall is fairly new, with lots of parking and lots of comfy seating for your companions when you are taking too long in a shop. It is an open-air mall, and this was such a lovely day that window shopping was especially pleasurable. One of my favorite stops is the Vera Bradley store. For the past several years this has been my go-to brand for bags, wallets, and presents. The mall has so many great shopping choices, you’ll find something that you’re particularly interested in, too.
I walked through the whole place, checking out new shops and enjoying the beautiful day with a clear blue sky and fresh breezes.
Then it was lunchtime. There are several options at the mall, but adventure was once more calling, so I clicked on my Yelp app and found a tempting option.
Caribbean Jack’s is a marina and a restaurant. The menu is interesting, with lots of good lunch choices. Seafood is prominent, as are burgers.  Their event calendar is full, with live music almost every day or evening.
The bright atmosphere, good food, and entertainment weren’t the primary draws for me. The views were amazing!
If you would like to live with views like this every day, I have great news for you. Just up the road from Caribbean Jack’s are lovely homes with river views like this. The homes are on the west side of the road. On the east side of the road are their corresponding docks.
If you don’t want to live as far south as Daytona, Jacksonville has similar offerings along the St. John’s River.
